Job Title:               Chief Investment Officer

As part of the senior management team, the CIO will be responsible for establishing strategic direction for the company and influencing policy.




Support the company’ s goals of growth and expansion by effectively representing the company to new investors and partners


Primarily responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with investors for company sponsored investments


Direct the company' s business development through managing the acquisition departments, investor relations, debt and equity placement, developing and maintaining a high net worth investor base. 


Strategize and support CEO/CFO in financial planning activities


Manages the acquisitions, underwriting and disposition processes for Multi-Family and Commercial properties in multiple states.  Directs and oversees the activities of the acquisitions team to ensure efficient operation, compliance with standards and procedures, and sound investment decisions. 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 


Business Development/Capital Markets


As part of the senior management team, responsible for establishing strategic direction for the company and influencing policy.   The position is also on Partnership Track depending on individual’ s performance, contribution and experience


Develop and implement plans to maintain existing investor base and capture new investors across the spectrum (institutional, private, foreign, others)


Oversee the development of marketing materials, meetings, investor presentations, and events that will support the growth of the investor baseDevelop and maintain an investor customer service program


Work with senior team to grow the business by formulating strategies and business plans


Develop and maintain the firm' s debt placement program






Work closely with the CEO/CFO on annual capital needs and targets


Manage process for all capital raises


Treasury and Capital expenditure matters




Set appropriate goals and objectives for the Multi-Family and Commercial Acquisitions Department to achieve the company’ s overall investment goals.


Create and maintain relationships with brokers, banks, owners and oversee acquisitions team in managing broker and investor relationships.


Evaluate and improve acquisition policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and ensure sound investment decisions.


Oversee the process of identifying and validating investment opportunities that meet the acquisitions strategy and align investments with capital.


Oversee the management of the diligence process, investment memorandum, and closing of the deal.


Ensure proper execution of all acquisitions transactions including: market analysis, pro-formas, feasibility, due diligence, investor relations, business plans, ROI analysis, underwriting, workout strategies; etc.


Structure financially complex transactions, including return on investment, IRR, waterfalls, regression analysis; etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities


Ensure own actions and department operations comply with company policies and procedures and applicable employment laws and regulations


Supervise acquisitions team of five or more


Provide leadership to staff by setting expectations, delegating work, monitoring progress, and providing performance feedback and training.

Five to eight years as of Acquisitions and Business Development experience: Strong track record in sales, strategy, negotiations, corporate development, financial management, marketing, operations and customer service


Realistic understanding of the Real Estate industry


Entrepreneurial vision and business acumen, able to find growth opportunities in dynamic and competitive environment


Acumen and independent judgment to interact with high net worth clientele


Strong relationship-management ability, both internally and client-facing


Two years of staff supervision experience and project management


Bachelor degree or Master' s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Marketing, Management or related field


Strong MS Excel skills and proficiency with other MSOffice software and other presentation software


Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to expand and maintain long-term relationships with investors


A strong sense of passion, purpose and sense of humor
